How To Make Sugar-Free Modaks At Home

Pragati Awasthi

Modaks are said to be Lord Ganesha’s favourite sweet and are a quintessential part of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. However, if you’re craving more sweet dumplings and are stopping yourself from having them due to your diet plan, then don’t worry, we have got you covered.

Here’s an easy sugar-free recipe for modaks that you can enjoy without any guilt.

Ingredients: Ghee, dates, almonds, cashews, raisins, pistachios, poppy seeds.

Step 1: Roast all the chopped dry fruits (almonds, cashews, raisins, pistachios) in ghee and grind them in a mixture.

Step 2: Roast poppy seeds and coconut powder in the same pan, then mix them with the dry fruits’ mixture.

Step 3: Take seedless dates and grind them in a mixture with little water. Now roast the mixture in ghee.

Step 4: Combine the hot mixture of the dates with the dry fruits and poppy seeds-coconut powder mixture and prepare a thick and soft mix of it.

Step 5: Let the mix cool for a few minutes, before giving them the shape of modaks.
