Here are 5 steps through which you can make Amla Dal and Rice for immunity this winter.

Ingredients 

4-5 ripe amlas, 1 cup toor dal (pigeon pea lentils), 4 cups water, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, salt to taste, 2 tablespoons ghee, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon mustard seeds, a few curry leaves, fresh coriander leaves for garnish.

Prepare the Amla

Clean and remove seeds from amla fruit. Blend amla into a fine paste then keep it aside.

Cook the Dal

Soak toor dal for 30 minutes. Pressure cook with water, turmeric, and salt. Cook for 3-4 whistles until soft and mushy.

 Temper the Dal

Heat ghee or oil, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and curry leaves in a pan. Then add grated amla paste and sauté until the flavour is diminished.

Mix Dal and Amla 

Combine amla paste with dal and mix evenly for flavour.

Serve
