Vineet Patawari’s Journey with Financial Education in India

Vineet Patawari is one of India’s leading entrepreneurs and financial educators. Mr. Patawari launched Elearnmarkets in 2013 with his fellow IIM graduate Vivek Bajaj. They further launched another venture named StockEdge to help consumers get a real experience about the workings of markets.

Currently, they have two offices in Kolkata with a team of 150 members working towards financial awareness. They have about 500 thousand registered learners with Elearnmarkets and over 2 million downloads for StockEdge.

Mr. Vineet Patawari on his entrepreneurial journey and the purpose behind his companies

Mr. Patawari mentions that he has always been passionate about education. He started his first venture, but soon had to drop it for ed-tech was not as popular at the time.

He joined his partner Mr. Bajaj and decided to create an online platform for financial and market learning. Thus, Elearnmarkets came about.

The idea behind StockEdge was to have a practical tool for students.

Simplifying finance. We in India, are still unaware of the meaning of inflation which is leading to wealth erosion.

What was the Unique Selling Proposition (USP) of StockEdge and Elearnmarkets?

StockEdge helps people get a real idea, through tools like scans of various stocks to help them understand markets and investments.

Elearnmarkets offers courses that break content into small pieces so complex concepts become easier for people to understand.

On COVID-19 and the shift to online education

This pandemic has allowed and engaged people to learn from home. During the lockdown, the financial markets were open. People were thinking of starting to invest. Their per month registration has grown 3 times and the revenue 2 times in the last 6 months.

StockEdge gives them the right tools to figure out where people can invest like stocks, sectors or other markets.

Message for fellow entrepreneurs

Start small and build up on the bits and pieces. Connect with people, take help, mentorship, read books, implement what you’re learning on a daily basis.

Team is what builds a business. The role of a leader, manager is to give them proper navigation. Be generous in appreciating people.
